I use Dropbox for some time now a very reliable utility to sync folders between all my computer and having a always up to date web backup.
This tools works very well under multiple OSs and I never had real problem with. The only limitation I came across, is that the applets wouldn’t work on one of my employer network and I don’t think is a dropbox’s problem. It’s more of a firewall feature, which blocks all the traffic that has not been specificaly authorized (as it should be).
So, try it, use it, adopt it.
I love this song, the singer is Gordon Gamo which is the singer of one my favorite group Violent Femmes.
I just purchase aHP PhotoSmart C4580 which works well with Linux (you’ll still need a windows or MacOS machine to setup the wifi edit: it seems that you can use linux as well with the latest version of the software).
Under ubuntu intrepid (hplip v2.8.7) only printing works but the scanner seem to be supported by the version 2.8.10 as it’s stated in a comment of this post: HPLIP question #45556: “How Do I Configure HP PhotoSmart C4580 Scanner ”
The scanner should be working with the next version of ubuntu jaunty (hplip v2.8.12), but you don’t have to wait for upgrade you’ll have to follow the installation instructions, and voilà!
I scanned my cell phone to do the test :
![]()
I tried to install it. First the ./configure command fails :
I installed the package libsvn-dev to resolve dependencies, but I bump into another error :
And this one, I have no clue howto solve it.But I will search for a solution. I should have search first. some package should be installed too:
now configure works but make fails
I’m a bit worry since the roadmap is clearly out of date.
I’m always looking for motivation to blog, I’ve tried to blog only when I have important stuff to say, most of the time I ended with partially written post, I never take the time to polish it. So, I tried to blog whenever I can but I didn’t work either. So, I’ll try money. I don’t think I will make real money, but the game could be fun, and it may work.
Edit: More important: when you love a post on a blog take the time to click on the ads because it can make a difference.
I just started a new opensource project.
This project is a task management system. The project is hosted here : SourceForge.net: ouatodo – Project Web Hosting – Open Source Software.
I think nobody will be interrested in joining the project for now, but I hope that someday people will join and have fun with me.
I’m not a big fan of this kind of resolution, but most years I don’t achieve much, so maybe I should give it a shot.
